8905682a16 LibJS/Bytecode: Begin moving shareable (JIT+Interpreter) stuff somewhere
There are a lot of native C++ functions that will be used by both the
bytecode interpreter and jitted code. Let's put them in their own file
instead of having them in Interpreter.cpp.

6a3f27509f LibJS: Avoid IdentifierTable lookup in cached GetGlobal op
When we hit the cache in GetGlobal, we don't need the identifier string
at all, so let's defer fetching it until after the cache miss.

7% speed-up on Kraken/imaging-gaussian-blur.js :^)

If we have a cached environment coordinate that hasn't been screwed
by eval(), we can get the value directly without instantiating a
Reference.

15% speed-up on Octane/zlib.js :^)

65717e3b75 LibJS: Inline fast case for Value::to_{boolean,number,numeric,primitive}
These functions all have a very common case that can be dealt with a
very simple inline check, often avoiding the need to call an out-of-line
function. This patch moves the common case to inline functions in a new
ValueInlines.h header (necessary due to header dependency issues..)

8% speed-up on the entire Kraken benchmark :^)

021a141b53 LibJS: Make array-like Put access on ordinary objects much faster
This patch adds a fast path to the PutByValue bytecode op that bypasses
a ton of things *if* a set of assumptions hold:

- The property key must be a non-negative Int32
- The base object must not interfere with indexed property access
- The base object must have simple indexed property storage
- The property key must already be present as an own property
- The existing value must not have any accessors defined

If this holds (which it should in many common cases), we can skip all
kinds of checks and poke directly at the property storage, saving time.

16% speed-up on the entire Kraken benchmark :^)
(including: 88% speed-up on Kraken/imaging-desaturate.js)
(including: 55% speed-up on Kraken/audio-fft.js)
(including: 54% speed-up on Kraken/audio-beat-detection.js)

27a83f7e5e LibJS: Make array-like Get access on ordinary objects much faster
This patch adds a fast path to the GetByValue bytecode op that bypasses
a ton of things *if* a set of assumptions hold:

- The existing value must not have any accessors defined

at the indexed property storage and save a boatload of time.

e5474c384d LibJS: Inline flow control ops in the bytecode interpreter loop
Instead of calling out to helper functions for flow control (and then
checking control flags on every iteration), we now simply inline those
ops in the interpreter loop directly.

d6e959686d LibJS: Remove automatic ExecutionContext creation in BC interpreter
This was a remnant from the AST/BC hybrid interpreter times. We've had
a VERIFY in here for weeks now that would catch anything depending on
this behavior, and nothing has hit it, so let's remove the unnecessary
code (but leave the VERIFY) :^)

c78506d79b LibJS: Only update EC instruction pointer when pushing to EC stack
Instead of trying to keep a live reference to the bytecode interpreter's
current instruction stream iterator, we now simply copy the current
iterator whenever pushing to the ExecutionContext stack.

This fixes a stack-use-after-return issue reported by ASAN.

1c06111cbd LibJS: Add file & line number to bytecode VM stack traces :^)
This works by adding source start/end offset to every bytecode
instruction. In the future we can make this more efficient by keeping
a map of bytecode ranges to source ranges in the Executable instead,
but let's just get traces working first.

2bdc69c42c LibJS: Add caching of this value in ResolveThisBinding instruction
Because "this" value cannot be changed during function execution it is
safe to compute it once and then use for future access.

This optimization makes ai-astar.js run 8% faster.

9f06e130a2 LibJS/Bytecode: Keep saved return value in call frame register
This fixes an issue where returning inside a `try` block and then
calling a function inside `finally` would clobber the saved return
value from the `try` block.

Note that we didn't need to change the base of register allocation,
since it was already 1 too high.

With this fixed, https://microsoft.com/edge loads in bytecode mode. :^)

77d7f715e3 LibJS+CI: Remove bytecode optimization passes for now
These passes have not been shown to actually optimize any JS, and tests
have become very flaky with optimizations enabled. Until some measurable
benefit is shown, remove the optimization passes to reduce overhead of
maintaining bytecode operations and to reduce CI churn. The framework
for optimizations will live on in git history, and can be restored once
proven useful.

cff8f56ce7 LibJS/Bytecode: Do not unwind eagerly after throwing Await
If an exception was thrown while evaluating the argument of an `await`
expression, we should jump to the continuation block instead of eagerly
rejecting the caller async function.

This restores the behavior prior to the addition of the separate `Await`
instruction in d66eb4e3.

e3f65f215d LibJS/Bytecode: Do not rethrow caught exception from finally
If the exception from the `try` block has already been caught by
`catch`, we need to clear the saved exception before entering `finally`
so that ContinuePendingUnwind will not re-throw it.

de8e4b1853 LibJS/Bytecode: Cache object own property accesses
The instructions GetById and GetByIdWithThis now remember the last-seen
Shape, and if we see the same object again, we reuse the property offset
from last time without doing a new lookup.

This allows us to use Object::get_direct(), bypassing the entire lookup
machinery and saving lots of time.

~23% speed-up on Kraken/ai-astar.js :^)

The var environments will unwind as needed with the ExecutionContext
and there's no need to include it in the unwind info.

We still need to do this for lexical environments though, since they
can have short local lifetimes inside a function.

fb979dcf34 LibJS/Bytecode: Make Bytecode::Interpreter participate in GC marking
Since the relationship between VM and Bytecode::Interpreter is now
clear, we can have VM ask the Interpreter for roots in the GC marking
pass. This avoids having to register and unregister handles and
MarkedVectors over and over.

Since GeneratorObject can also own a RegisterWindow, we share the code
in a RegisterWindow::visit_edges() helper.

~4% speed-up on Kraken/stanford-crypto-ccm.js :^)

cc9ec6693b LibJS: Remove the concept of bytecode optimization levels
While this would be useful in the future for implementing a multi-tiered
optimization strategy, currently a binary on/off is enough for us. This
removes the confusingly on-by-default `OptimizationLevel::None` option
which made the optimization pipeline a no-op even if
`Bytecode::Interpreter::set_optimizations_enabled` had been called.

6537ed8fff LibJS/Bytecode: Simplify Bytecode::Interpreter lifetime model
The JS::VM now owns the one Bytecode::Interpreter. We no longer have
multiple bytecode interpreters, and there is no concept of a "current"
bytecode interpreter.

If you ask for VM::bytecode_interpreter_if_exists(), it will return null
if we're not running the program in "bytecode enabled" mode.

If you ask for VM::bytecode_interpreter(), it will return a bytecode
interpreter in all modes. This is used for situations where even the AST
interpreter switches to bytecode mode (generators, etc.)

d063f35afd LibJS/Bytecode: Leave GlobalDeclarationInstantiation in C++
Don't try to implement this AO in bytecode. Instead, the bytecode
Interpreter class now has a run() API with the same inputs as the AST
interpreter. It sets up the necessary environments etc, including
invoking the GlobalDeclarationInstantiation AO.

Unwind contexts now remember the lexical and variable environments in
effect when they were created. If an exception is caught, we revert
to those environments in the running execution context.

de514f29ad LibJS: Align codegen AwaitExpressions to YieldExpressions
We use generators in bytecode to approximate async functions, but the
code generated by AwaitExpressions did not have the value processing
paths that Yield requires, eg the `generator.throw()` path, which is
used by AsyncFunctionDriverWrapper to signal Promise rejections.

This instruction tells the finally proceeding it, that instead of
jumping to it's next block it should jump to the designated block.

fcc3348bc8 LibJS: Intercept returns through finally blocks in Bytecode
This is still not perfect, as we now actually crash in the
`try-finally-continue` tests, while we now succeed all
`try-catch-finally-*` tests.

Note that we do not yet go through the finally block when exiting the
unwind context through a break or continue.

6e19ab2bbc AK+Everywhere: Rename String to DeprecatedString
We have a new, improved string type coming up in AK (OOM aware, no null
state), and while it's going to use UTF-8, the name UTF8String is a
mouthful - so let's free up the String name by renaming the existing
class.
Making the old one have an annoying name will hopefully also help with
quick adoption :^)

eb50969781 LibJS: Add an EliminateLoads pass to Bytecode
This pass tries to eliminate repeated lookups of variables by name, by
remembering where these where last loaded to.

For now the lookup cache needs to be fully cleared with each call or
property access, because we do not have a way to check if these have any
side effects on the currently visible scopes.

Note that property accesses can cause getters/setters to be called, so
these are treated as calls in all cases.

277132f70d LibJS/Bytecode: Store unwind contexts inside RegisterWindow
Unwind contexts need to be preserved as we exit and re-enter a
generator.

For example, this would previously crash when returning from the try
statement after yielding as we lost the unwind context when yielding,
but still have a LeaveUnwindContext instruction from running
`perform_needed_unwinds` when generating the return statement.
```js
function* a() {
    try {
        return (yield 1);
    } catch {}
}

iter = a();
iter.next();
iter.next();
```

d9b543da68 LibJS: Disable bytecode optimizations by default
The optimization passes are not stable, which makes test262 flaky.
Address this by introducing a new OptimizationLevel::None and making it
the default.

This removes all the flakiness from test262 in my testing.

We can enable optimizations by default again once they have been made
stable. :^)

275dea9d98 LibJS: Remove {Bytecode::,}Interpreter::global_object()
The basic idea is that a global object cannot just come out of nowhere,
it must be associated to a realm - so get it from there, if needed.

This is to enforce the changes from all the previous commits by not
handing out global objects unless you actually have an initialized
realm (either stored somewhere, or the VM's current realm).

function. Strict mode can only be changed with the first statement of

9422ae9bb2 LibJS: Add infallible variant of VM::push_execution_context()
It makes no sense to require passing a global object and doing a stack
space check in some cases where running out of stack is highly unlikely,
we can't recover from errors, and currently ignore the result anyway.

This is most commonly in constructors and when setting things up, rather
than regular function calls.

ada8880f58 LibJS: Leave unwind context if it has no finalizer when using handler
For example, a try/catch block with no finally. The try block and catch
block do not need to unwind to a finally block, so the unwind context
is no longer needed when we jump to the catch block.

If we threw an exception in a catch block of a try/catch, there will be
no handler or finalizer and the unit would continue on as if nothing
happened.

This would subsequently crash with the  `m_saved_exception.is_null()`
assertion failure when we next call a non-native function.

1bbfaf8627 LibJS: More properly implement scoping rules in bytecode codegen
Now we emit CreateVariable and SetVariable with the appropriate
initialization/environment modes, much closer to the spec.
This makes a whole lot of things like let/const variables, function
and variable hoisting and some other things work :^)

9264f9d24e LibJS+Everywhere: Remove VM::exception() and most related functions
This commit removes all exception related code:
Remove VM::exception(), VM::throw_exception() etc. Any leftover
throw_exception calls are moved to throw_completion.
The one method left is clear_exception() which is now a no-op. Most of
these calls are just to clear whatever exception might have been thrown
when handling a Completion. So to have a cleaner commit this will be
removed in a next commit.

It also removes the actual Exception and TemporaryClearException classes
since these are no longer used.

In any spot where the exception was actually used an attempt was made to
preserve that behavior. However since it is no longer tracked by the VM
we cannot access exceptions which were thrown in previous calls.
There are two such cases which might have different behavior:
- In Web::DOM::Document::interpreter() the on_call_stack_emptied hook
  used to print any uncaught exception but this is now no longer
  possible as the VM does not store uncaught exceptions.
- In js the code used to be interruptable by throwing an exception on
  the VM. This is no longer possible but was already somewhat fragile
  before as you could happen to throw an exception just before a VERIFY.

3618ca2420 LibJS: Propagate exceptions across bytecode executable boundaries
To support situations like this:

    function foo() { throw 1; }

    try {
        foo();
    } catch (e) {
    }

Each unwind context now keeps track of its origin executable.

When an exception is thrown, we return from run() immediately if the
nearest unwind context isn't in the current executable.

This causes a natural unwind to the point where we find the
catch/finally block(s) to jump into.

f29a82dd84 LibJS: Move the GlobalEnvironment from GlobalObject to Realm
This is where the spec wants to have it. Requires a couple of hacks as
currently everything that needs a Realm actually has a GlobalObject, so
we need to go via the Interpreter.

66264f7c2a LibJS: Change ExecutionContext's arguments list to a MarkedValueList
The test262 tests under RegExp/property-escapes/generated will invoke
Reflect.apply with up to 10,000 arguments at a time. In LibJS, when the
call stack reached VM::call_internal, we transfer those arguments from
a MarkedValueList to the execution context's arguments Vector.

Because these types differ (MarkedValueList is a Vector<Value, 32>), the
arguments are copied rather than moved. By changing the arguments vector
to a MarkedValueList, we can properly move the passed arguments over.

This shaves about 2 seconds off the following test262 test (from 15sec):
  RegExp/property-escapes/generated/General_Category_-_Decimal_Number.js

1f8b6ac3c3 LibJS: Begin implementing GlobalEnvironmentRecord
These represent the outermost scope in the environment record
hierarchy. The spec says they should be a "composite" of two things:

- An ObjectEnvironmentRecord wrapping the global object
- A DeclarativeEnvironmentRecord for other declarations

It's not yet clear to me how this should work, so this patch only
implements the first part, an object record wrapping the global object.

1d20380859 LibJS: Split the per-call-frame environment into lexical and variable
To better follow the spec, we need to distinguish between the current
execution context's lexical environment and variable environment.

This patch moves us to having two record pointers, although both of
them point at the same environment records for now.

1414c7b049 LibJS: Add a basic pass manager and add some basic passes
This commit adds a bunch of passes, the most interesting of which is a
pass that merges blocks together, and a pass that places blocks that
flow into each other next to each other, and a very simply pass that
removes duplicate basic blocks.
Note that this does not remove the jump at the end of each block in that
pass to avoid scope creep in the passes.

67cc31a74f LibJS: Implement bytecode generation for try..catch..finally
EnterUnwindContext pushes an unwind context (exception handler and/or
finalizer) onto a stack.

LeaveUnwindContext pops the unwind context from that stack.

Upon return to the interpreter loop we check whether the VM has an
exception pending. If no unwind context is available we return from the
loop. If an exception handler is available we clear the VM's exception,
put the exception value into the accumulator register, clear the unwind
context's handler and jump to the handler. If no handler is available
but a finalizer is available we save the exception value + metadata (for
 later use by ContinuePendingUnwind), clear the VM's exception, pop the
unwind context and jump to the finalizer.

ContinuePendingUnwind checks whether a saved exception is available. If
no saved exception is available it jumps to the resume label. Otherwise
it stores the exception into the VM.

The Jump after LeaveUnwindContext could be integrated into the
LeaveUnwindContext instruction. I've kept them separate for now to make
the bytecode more readable.

6a0d1fa259 LibJS: Store strings in a string table
Instead of using Strings in the bytecode ops this adds a global string
table to the Executable struct which individual operations can refer
to using indices. This brings bytecode ops one step closer to being
pointer free.

01e8f0889a LibJS: Generate bytecode in basic blocks instead of one big block
This limits the size of each block (currently set to 1K), and gets us
closer to a canonical, more easily analysable bytecode format.
As a result of this, "Labels" are now simply entries to basic blocks.
Since there is no more 'conditional' jump (as all jumps are always
taken), JumpIf{True,False} are unified to JumpConditional, and
JumpIfNullish is renamed to JumpNullish.
Also fixes #7914 as a result of reimplementing the loop logic.

e7d69c5d3c LibJS: Devirtualize and pack the bytecode stream :^)
This patch changes the LibJS bytecode to be a stream of instructions
packed one-after-the-other in contiguous memory, instead of a vector
of OwnPtr<Instruction>. This should be a lot more cache-friendly. :^)

Instructions are also devirtualized and instead have a type field
using a new Instruction::Type enum.

To iterate over a bytecode stream, one must now use
Bytecode::InstructionStreamIterator.

80b1604b0a LibJS: Compile ScriptFunctions into bytecode and run them that way :^)
If there's a current Bytecode::Interpreter in action, ScriptFunction
will now compile itself into bytecode and execute in that context.

This patch also adds the Return bytecode instruction so that we can
actually return values from called functions. :^)

Return values are propagated from callee to caller via the caller's
$0 register. Bytecode::Interpreter now keeps a stack of register
"windows". These are not very efficient, but it should be pretty
straightforward to convert them to e.g a sliding register window
architecture later on.

This is pretty dang cool! :^)

6ae9346cd3 LibJS: Add basic support for while loops in the bytecode engine
This introduces two new instructions: Jump and JumpIfFalse.
Jumps are made to a Bytecode::Label, which is a simple object that
represents a location in the bytecode stream.

Note that you may not always know the target of a jump when adding the
jump instruction itself, but we can just update the instruction later
on during codegen once we know where the jump target is.

The Bytecode::Interpreter now implements jumping via a jump slot that
gets checked after each instruction to see if a jump is pending.
If not, we just increment the PC as usual.

69dddd4ef5 LibJS: Start fleshing out a bytecode for the JavaScript engine :^)
This patch begins the work of implementing JavaScript execution in a
bytecode VM instead of an AST tree-walk interpreter.

It's probably quite naive, but we have to start somewhere.

The basic idea is that you call Bytecode::Generator::generate() on an
AST node and it hands you back a Bytecode::Block filled with
instructions that can then be interpreted by a Bytecode::Interpreter.

This first version only implements two instructions: Load and Add. :^)

Each bytecode block has infinity registers, and the interpreter resizes
its register file to fit the block being executed.

Two new `js` options are added in this patch as well:

`-d` will dump the generated bytecode
`-b` will execute the generated bytecode

Note that unless `-d` and/or `-b` are specified, none of the bytecode
related stuff in LibJS runs at all. This is implemented in parallel
with the existing AST interpreter. :^)
