21cbfb3cb1 LibJS: Drop source ranges from bytecode source maps
Store source map locations as bytecode offset, line, and column.
Runtime consumers only emit the start line and column, so source end
positions and source text offsets do not need to be carried through
Executable source maps, bytecode cache serialization, or the Rust FFI.

Keep SourceCode's internal position cache able to track source text
offsets so callers can still translate source offsets to line and
column pairs when needed. Hash dump-bytecode IDs from the name, first
source position, and bytecode size instead of source slices that need
end offsets.

Bump the bytecode cache format version for the slimmer serialized
source map entry shape.

e926e86f8d LibJS: Materialize compiled function bytecode lazily
Keep fully compiled function bytecode in its Rust-side form until the
function is called for the first time. This covers decoded disk cache
records and freshly precompiled bytecode, so startup avoids eagerly
allocating every nested function executable.

Validate cached function bytecode before accepting a cache entry. This
keeps the existing failure behavior for corrupt on-disk cache data. Add
coverage for bytecode-cache and freshly precompiled functions to assert
that nested executables stay absent after script materialization, then
appear after the function is called.

b9ec043b5a LibGC: Add live HeapBlock registry to fix weak container UAF
Maintain a HashTable<HeapBlock*> of live heap blocks in the Heap,
updated on block creation and destruction.

Weak containers (WeakMap, WeakSet, WeakRef, FinalizationRegistry)

remove_dead_cells() methods. This prevents use-after-free when
blocks have been freed during incremental sweeping.

Move weak container cleanup (remove_dead_cells) out of both

Previously, remove_dead_cells could access cells that had already
been swept and poisoned by ASAN, causing use-after-poison crashes
when a new GC triggered while an incremental sweep was in progress.

f80f52b710 LibJS: Add JS_OBJECT_WITH_CUSTOM_CLASS_NAME
Some JS::Object subclasses need the GC-cell macro plumbing while still

Add a GC_CELL helper that provides the Base alias and heap friendship

the existing validation still checks the class name and base class

4182952090 LibJS: Replace PromiseResolvingFunction closure with a Kind enum

dispatch by a Kind enum on the cell. This removes the AK::Function

2171563daf LibJS: Avoid function envs for lexical-this arrows
Track whether a function needs environment-backed this resolution
separately from whether it needs to allocate its own function
environment. Arrow functions that only capture lexical this can now
resolve through the outer environment without allocating an empty
function environment for every call.

Keep the asm Call path conservative by routing functions that still need
lexical-this resolution through the C++ inline-call helper, so the call
receiver is not cached as the arrow function's this value.

Microbenchmark:

    function makeLexicalThisArrow() {
        return () => this.value;
    }

    let object = { value: 1, makeLexicalThisArrow };
    let fn = object.makeLexicalThisArrow();

74e2dac929 LibJS: Avoid ropes for short flat string concatenations
Short string concatenations are a common allocation churn pattern in JS
execution. Many of these results are immediately observed as flat
strings, so the intended win is to avoid spending GC and flattening work

1ab23e67e9 LibJS: Use an intrusive list for cached typed array views
Track typed array views with cached backing-store pointers through an
intrusive list instead of a WeakHashSet. The cache only needs linear
enumeration when an ArrayBuffer detaches, and IntrusiveList::append()
already deduplicates a view when initialization refreshes its cached

Unlink cached views from TypedArrayBase::finalize(), before cell
destruction, so dead views do not leave list nodes behind. Also unlink
when a view can no longer cache its data pointer.

73812e12d2 LibJS: Fast path Array.prototype.indexOf on packed arrays
Skip the generic HasProperty and Get loop when indexOf operates on a
simple packed array. In that case every index below length is an own
data property, so a direct scan of the packed indexed property storage
gives the same strict-equality result without the per-element property
lookup
ceremony.

Only use the fast path when the current packed storage size still
matches the length captured before fromIndex coercion, since that
coercion can run user code and mutate the receiver. Add coverage for
length and storage mutations during fromIndex coercion.

010deec578 LibJS: Build functions_to_initialize in source order
ECMAScript hoisting keeps the LAST function declaration with a given
name. The Rust scope_collector and script GDI extraction implemented
this with a single reverse scan that pushed first-seen entries, which
left the resulting list in REVERSE source order. The C++ side then
iterated `m_functions_to_initialize.in_reverse()` to undo that.

Switch the Rust side to a two-pass forward scan that records the last
position per name and emits entries in source order, and drop the
matching `.in_reverse()` calls in Script.cpp and AbstractOperations.cpp.
Same hoisting semantics; NewFunction emission and global property
iteration order now follow the source.

The HashMap that tracks last positions is keyed on `SharedUtf16String`,
so each insert is a refcount bump on the AST's existing Rc instead of
a deep `Vec<u16>` clone.

Add bytecode tests at script and nested-function scope that exercise
multiple declarations and a duplicate name to pin the new ordering.

0b9636fadf LibJS: Only cache TypedArray data pointers for owned buffers
WebAssembly.Memory-backed ArrayBuffers wrap external
ByteBuffer storage. When that memory grows,
ByteBuffer::try_resize() may realloc the backing storage while
old fixed-length buffer objects remain reachable from JS.

TypedArrayBase cached m_data for all fixed-length buffers, and
the asm interpreter fast path dereferenced that cached pointer
directly. For wasm memory views this could leave a stale
pointer behind across grow().

Restrict cached typed-array data pointers to fixed-length
ArrayBuffers that own stable ByteBuffer storage.
External/unowned buffers, including WebAssembly.Memory
buffers, now keep m_data == nullptr and fall back to code that
re-derives buffer().data() on each access.

Add regressions for both the original shared-memory grow case
and the second-grow stale-view case.

c0e520463e LibJS: Invalidate prototype chains via per-shape child lists
invalidate_all_prototype_chains_leading_to_this used to scan every
prototype shape in the realm and walk each one's chain looking for
the mutated shape. That was O(N_prototype_shapes x chain_depth) per
mutation and showed up hot in real profiles when a page churned a
lot of prototype state during startup.

Each prototype shape now keeps a weak list of the prototype shapes
whose immediate [[Prototype]] points at the object that owns this
shape. The list is registered on prototype-shape creation
(clone_for_prototype, set_prototype_shape) and migrated to the new
prototype shape when the owning prototype object transitions to a
new shape. Invalidation is then a recursive walk over this direct-
child registry, costing O(transitive descendants).

bfbc3352b5 LibJS: Extend Array.prototype.shift() fast path to holey arrays
indexed_take_first() already memmoves elements down for both Packed and
Holey storage, but the caller at ArrayPrototype::shift() only entered
the fast path for Packed arrays. Holey arrays fell through to the
spec-literal per-element loop (has_property / get / set /
delete_property_or_throw), which is substantially slower.

Add a separate Holey predicate with the additional safety checks the
spec semantics require: default_prototype_chain_intact() (so
HasProperty on a hole doesn't escape to a poisoned prototype) and
extensible() (so set() on a hole slot doesn't create a new own
property on a non-extensible object). The existing Packed predicate
is left unchanged -- packed arrays don't need these checks because
every index in [0, size) is already an own data property.

43aecd3f90 LibJS: Skip property-table key marking for non-dictionary shapes
Shape::visit_edges used to walk every entry of m_property_table and
call PropertyKey::visit_edges on each key. For non-dictionary shapes
that work is redundant: m_property_table is a lazily built cache of
the transition chain, and every key it contains was originally
inserted as some ancestor shape's m_property_key, which is already
kept alive via m_previous.

Intrinsic shapes populated through add_property_without_transition()
in Intrinsics.cpp are not dictionaries and have no m_previous to
reach their keys through, but each of those keys is either a
vm.names.* string or a well-known symbol and is strongly rooted by
the VM for its whole lifetime, so skipping them here is safe too.

Measured on the main WebWorker used by https://www.maptiler.com/maps/
this cuts out ~98% of the PropertyKey::visit_edges calls made by
Shape::visit_edges each GC, reducing time spent in GC by ~1.3 seconds
on my Linux PC while initially loading the map.

eb9432fcb8 LibJS: Preserve source positions in bytecode source maps
Carry full source positions through the Rust bytecode source map so
stack traces and other bytecode-backed source lookups can use them
directly.

This keeps exception-heavy paths from reconstructing line and column
information through SourceCode::range_from_offsets(), which can spend a
lot of time building SourceCode's position cache on first use.

We're trading some space for time here, but I believe it's worth it at
this tag, as this saves ~250ms of main thread time while loading
https://x.com/ on my Linux machine. :^)

Reading the stored Position out of the source map directly also exposed
two things masked by the old range_from_offsets() path: a latent
off-by-one in Lexer::new_at_offset() (its consume() bumped line_column
past the character at offset; only synthesize_binding_pattern() hit it),
and a (1,1) fallback in range_from_offsets() that fired whenever the
queried range reached EOF. Fix the lexer, then rebaseline both the
bytecode dump tests (no more spurious "1:1") and the destructuring AST
tests (binding-pattern identifiers now report their real columns).

1f46651af5 LibJS: Reuse cached UTF-16 in Array.prototype.sort's string comparator
CompareArrayElements was calling ToString(x) +
PrimitiveString::create(vm, ...) on every comparison, producing a
fresh PrimitiveString that wrapped the original's AK::String but
carried no cached UTF-16. The subsequent IsLessThan then hit
PrimitiveString::utf16_string_view() on that fresh object, which
re-ran simdutf UTF-8 validation + UTF-8 -> UTF-16 conversion for
both sides on every one of the N log N comparisons.

When x and y are already String Values, ToString(x) and
ToPrimitive(x, Number) are the identity per spec, so we can drop
the IsLessThan detour entirely and compare their Utf16Views
directly. The original PrimitiveString caches its UTF-16 on first
access, so subsequent comparisons against the same element hit
the cache; Utf16View::operator<=> additionally gives us a memcmp
fast path when both sides ended up with short-ASCII UTF-16 storage.

Microbenchmark:
```js
function makeStrings(n) {
    let seed = 1234567;
    const rand = () => {
d8aee7f1e6 LibJS: Refresh TypedArray cached data pointers on shared memory grow
WebAssembly.Memory({shared:true}).grow() reallocates the underlying
AK::ByteBuffer outline (kmalloc+kfree) but, per the threads proposal,
must not detach the associated SharedArrayBuffer.
ArrayBuffer::detach_buffer was the only path that walked m_cached_views
and cleared the cached raw m_data pointer on each TypedArrayBase, so
every existing view retained a dangling pointer into the freed outline.
The AsmInterpreter GetByValue / PutByValue fast paths dereference that
cached pointer directly, yielding a use-after-free triggerable from
JavaScript.
Add ArrayBuffer::refresh_cached_typed_array_view_data_pointers() which
re-derives m_data for each registered view from the current outline
base (and refreshes UnownedFixedLengthByteBuffer::size), and call it
583fa475fb LibJS: Call RawNativeFunction directly from asm Call
The asm interpreter already inlines ECMAScript calls, but builtin calls
still went through the generic C++ Call slow path even when the callee
8a9d5ee1a1 LibJS: Separate raw and capturing native functions
NativeFunction previously stored an AK::Function for every builtin,
4b1ecbc9df LibJS+LibUnicode: Update icu4x's calendar module to 2.2.0
First: We now pin the icu4x version to an exact number. Minor version
upgrades can result in noisy deprecation warnings and API changes which
This patch updates our Rust calendar module to use the new APIs. This
initially caused some test failures due to the new Date::try_new API
(which is the recommended replacement for Date::try_new_from_codes)
having quite a limited year range of +/-9999. So we must use other
APIs (Date::try_from_fields and calendrical_calculations::gregorian)
to avoid these limits.
Keep JS-to-JS inline calls out of m_execution_context_stack and walk
the active stack from the running execution context instead. Base
pushes now record the previous running context so duplicate
TemporaryExecutionContext pushes and host re-entry still restore
correctly.
This keeps the fast JS-to-JS path off the vector without losing GC
root collection, stack traces, or helpers that need to inspect the
active execution context chain.
2ca7dfa649 LibJS: Move bytecode interpreter state to VM
The bytecode interpreter only needed the running execution context,
but still threaded a separate Interpreter object through both the C++
and asm entry points. Move that state and the bytecode execution
helpers onto VM instead, and teach the asm generator and slow paths to
use VM directly.
3e18136a8c LibJS: Add a String.fromCharCode builtin opcode
Specialize only the fixed unary case in the bytecode generator and let
all other argument counts keep using the generic Call instruction. This
keeps the builtin bytecode simple while still covering the common fast
path.
The asm interpreter handles int32 inputs directly, applies the ToUint16
mask in-place, and reuses the VM's cached ASCII single-character
strings when the result is 7-bit representable. Non-ASCII single code
unit results stay on the dedicated builtin path via a small helper, and
the dedicated slow path still handles the generic cases.
ce8f92cf6a LibJS: Reuse cached ASCII strings for substrings
Teach the PrimitiveString substring creation path to return the
VM's preallocated single-character ASCII strings instead of always
allocating a deferred Substring.
This keeps one-code-unit ASCII substrings on the same fast path as
direct string creation, including callers like charAt and indexed
string property access.
7bc40bd54a LibJS: Add a charAt builtin bytecode fast path
Tag String.prototype.charAt as a builtin and emit a dedicated
bytecode instruction for non-computed calls.
The asm interpreter can then stay on the fast path when the
receiver is a primitive string with resident UTF-16 data and the
selected code unit is ASCII. In that case we can return the VM's
cached empty or single-character ASCII string directly.
